We are fast approaching the first of the final season and the antepenultimate production for Arkle Theatre Company, Accidental Death of an Anarchist.
Originally written by Dario Fo and Franca Rame, Tom Basden’s hilarious and bang-up-to-date adaptation was first performed in 2022 to high acclaim. Now Arkle will take on the riotous satire with their production at the Hill Street Theatre, Wednesday 14th to Saturday 17th May.
An irrepressible fraudster known only as the Maniac is brought into Police Headquarters just as the officers are preparing for a judicial review of the recent ‘accidental’ death of a suspect in custody.
Outwitting his captors, the Maniac dupes them into performing a farcical recreation of the incident, exposing the absurd corruption and terrifying idiocy at the heart of the system.
Tickets are available now direct from Arkle Theatre Company, with booking online the only way to secure your seat. Our last few spring productions at the Hill Street Theatre have sold out, so be sure to book early to avoid missing out!
